Wireless Access, E-mail, and Personal Computers
We will provide wireless access for your laptop computer (i.e. 150 concurrent wlan connections) throughout the conference venue for which you must provide an 802.11b/g compatible card. Please make sure your wireless access has not been disabled by your company/institution as we will not be able to modify this on site. You’ll find your username/password in your conference bag. All computers in the lecture halls for presenters have ethernet (hard wired) connections.
The e-mail room will be equipped with some personal computers. SSH will be available on all systems. One printer will be available on the LAN. Presenters have priority access to one computer and the printer for last minute changes to presentations. You may also bring your laptop computer and connect to the ethernet hub. The ethernet hub accepts RJ-45 modular jacks.
Speaker Preparation
We invite speakers to use the personal computer and printer in the e-mail room for last minute changes. Video projectors will be provided in all session rooms. Please find time before sessions and during breaks to test your laptop connection to the video projectors. Should you require any assistance please come to the conference office.
Faxes
A fax machine is available at the hotel business office for conference-related business. Incoming fax messages may be sent to the CUG Conference Office eFax™ at (1-509) 272-7239. They will arrive as PDF’s via e-mail to the CUG Office computer. Notices of incoming fax messages will be posted on the conference message board.
Business Services and Photocopying
If you plan to distribute copies of your presentation, please bring sufficient copies with you. You may also have copies made at the hotel business office for a charge.
Smoking Policy
There is no smoking allowed at the Conference.
Charging your mobile
Charging the phones is possible at the Info desk. We have a few batteries for charging (some models of Nokia, Eriksson etc. – we update this list before the congress), but it is safest to bring your own charger. There is also congress security personnel watching the phones when they are left for charging.
Extension wires (for laptops)
There will be extension wires for laptops at the biggest congress rooms. You can charge your laptop also at Marina Congess Center where ever you’ll find wall sockets (passages, lobbies, halls). Some battery chargers for different types of cellphones will be provided at the Info desk.
Special Assistance
Any requests for special assistance during the conference should be noted on the “Special Requirements” area of the registration form, or you may contact the Local Arrangements Committee.
